This notice says what personal information Ramdoot Innovations ("Ramdoot", "we") holds when you use ramdoot.in, why, for how long, and what you can ask us to do with it.

Our students are school students. A student is enrolled by a parent or legal guardian, and the account belongs to that parent or guardian. We deal with the parent or guardian only: we do not ask for a student's own email address or phone number.

Who is responsible

Ramdoot Innovations runs this site and decides how your information is used. For anything in this notice, reach us via the "contact us" link in the footer.

What we hold, and why

  • Enrolment requests, made by a parent or legal guardian: whether you are the student's mother, father or legal guardian, your name, email address and phone number, the student's name, the batch you ask for, and your declaration that you may enrol the student, with the time you made it. We use them to answer the request, to create your account when it is approved and to run the enrolment.
  • Your account: your email address, your password (stored only in a scrambled form that we cannot read), and when you last logged in.
  • The student's studies: the topics opened, quiz answers and scores under your account. The student's teachers use them to follow progress and to help.
  • Payments: for a paid course, the amount, the date and the payment reference, and the receipt made from them. We do not hold card or bank details.
  • Messages sent with the contact form: your name, email address and what you wrote, so that we can reply.
  • Technical records: the site's log keeps the internet address (IP address) of a visit for a short time, to keep the site secure and to find faults.

We use this information to provide the courses you ask for and to keep the site secure, and we keep payment records because the law requires it. We do not sell your information, we show no advertising, and we do not use it to build a profile of you for anyone else.

Who can see it

Only Ramdoot staff who need it for their work: the people who handle enrolments and payments, and the teachers and academic associates of the student's own batch, who see the student's name and progress and the parent's or guardian's email address. Other students and parents cannot see your details.

The site is hosted for us by our hosting provider, Hostinger, on servers in India.

Videos

Course videos are shown in an embedded video player from Voomly, hosted in the US. We do not pass your name, email address or account to it. As with any embedded content, your browser fetches the player and the video directly from Voomly's servers.

Cookies

The site uses one cookie to keep you logged in, and one to remember that you have closed the notice at the foot of the page. A visitor who does not log in gets no other cookie from us. We use no advertising or analytics cookies.

How long we keep it

  • The form you send to ask for enrolment: 30 days. The enrolment itself: as long as you have an account.
  • Contact messages: 180 days.
  • Your account, progress and quiz results: until you ask us to remove them.
  • Payment records: as long as tax and accounting law requires.
  • The site's log: the newest 10,000 entries.

Students under 18

Most of our students are under 18. Only a parent or legal guardian can ask for enrolment. On the enrolment form they declare that they are the student's parent or legal guardian and may by law create the account and enrol the student, and they agree to this notice on the student's behalf. We keep that declaration with the enrolment. A parent or guardian can take this agreement back at any time by writing to us; the enrolment then ends.

What you can ask us

You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Write to us through the "contact us" link in the footer, giving the email address of your account; we answer within 30 days. If you ask us to delete the information we remove the account, the student's name, progress and quiz results. A payment record stays, with the payer's name but without the student's name, your email address and phone number, for as long as the law requires.

If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may complain to the data protection authority of your country. In India that is the Data Protection Board of India.
